So I previously wrote a post on how to create a map of anywhere of the world using d3. I’ve decided to take that a step further and created a python script that automates the entire thing.
Follow the instructions in this github repo and you should be good.
Note: You will need to install GDAL and have Python running.
Enjoy!
Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you
know a few of the pictures aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but
I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same results.
Hey Bob, thanks for the comment, Yeah seems like I’m getting now An error of type -10814 has occurred.
Looking into it
So its working for me in Chrome… for some reason Firefox is not working… do you experience this issue in a particular browser? Seems like if the file for the country is to heavy it just hangs on some browsers…
Wonderful blog you have here but I was curious about if you
knew of any user discussion forums that cover the same
topics discussed in this article? I’d really like to be a part of community where I can get feed-back from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same interest.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Cheers!
Thanks for the good vibes!
I would start with stackoverflow and go over all the d3js tagged questions that they have. You can find a lot of interesting things there and by looking at what others stumble upon and giving your own suggestion, you learn and contribute as well. Aside from that depending on where you live there are d3js meetups that gather alot of people.
Generally I do not read article on blogs, but I would like to say that
this write-up very compelled me to check out and do it! Your writing taste
has been amazed me. Thanks, very nice post.
